Day Plans
Arrive in Dhaka and transfer to your hotel. Use this day to rest and recharge. We recommend buying some snacks, personal supplies, or batteries for the island trip, as shops on the island are limited.
We depart Dhaka early morning by road to Noakhali. Our first stop is the Bajra Shahi Mosque, often called the "Taj Mahal of Bengal" for its stunning Mughal architecture and intricate tile work. Next, we visit the historic Gandhi Ashram in Sonaimuri, established by Mahatma Gandhi during his peace mission in 1947. Learn about the rich history of the region before settling into a hotel in Noakhali or near the ferry ghat for the night.
We head to the Ghat to board the Sea Truck or launch to Hatiya Island. Enjoy the river cruise as we navigate the delta. From Hatiya, we take a smaller trawler boat to reach the isolated Nijhum Dwip. The multi-leg journey is an adventure in itself, taking you further away from the modern world. Check into your resort or set up camp near the beach, surrounded by the sound of the ocean.
Wake up early and head to Choudhury Khal. We take a silent country boat ride into the narrow mangrove canals. This is the prime time to see herds of spotted deer coming to the water's edge to drink, undisturbed by engine noise. In the afternoon, explore Namar Bazar and the unending stretch of virgin beach. Watch the sunset in absolute silence, far from city life, perhaps spotting wild buffaloes in the distance.
We retrace our steps back to Hatiya and board the return transport back to Dhaka. We arrive in the capital by evening. We will drop you off comfortably at your hotel in Dhaka. Airport drop-off is also available upon request for your flight home.
